Why Close Trees Cost More
When there is room, a crew can fell a tree whole. When a house, shed, pool or fence is within the tree's fall zone, they take it down in sections. A climber removes limbs, then cuts the trunk top down, with each piece roped and lowered. That takes more people, more time and more rope work, so the price goes up.
How a Careful Crew Protects Your Property
- Rigging lines that guide each piece away from the roof
- Plywood or mats over lawn and driveway where heavy pieces land
- Tarps or covers for pools, vents and windows
- A crane when the tree leans over the house or the yard is tight
Roots and Foundations
Big roots can lift a driveway or walk, and sometimes crack a slab or a drain line. Removing the tree does not always fix that, and rotting roots can leave settling ground. If you are worried about a foundation, mention it when you ask for quotes and have an engineer look.
Neighbors and Property Lines
If the tree sits on the line or a neighbor's yard needs access, talk to them first. Crews should know exactly whose tree it is. Pages to read next: crane tree removal and backyard removal with limited access.
